Safety & Contraindications

We believe in the power of plants—and in respecting what they can do. Every herb in our formulations is chosen with care, but botanicals are potent by nature. Please review the information below before use, especially if you are pregnant, nursing, taking medications, or managing a health condition.

Ashwagandha is in the nightshade family; avoid with nightshade sensitivity. Use caution with thyroid medications, as it may potentiate their effects. Avoid in pregnancy.

Holy Basil (Tulsi) may lower blood sugar; use caution if taking diabetes medications or if hypoglycemic. May have mild blood-thinning effects. Avoid in pregnancy due to potential anti-fertility effects. Discontinue two weeks before surgery.

Lavender is generally well tolerated. May potentiate sedative medications. Rare cases of contact sensitivity. Use in moderation, as high doses may cause headache or nausea.

Lemon Balm may have mild thyroid-suppressing effects in high doses; consider this if hypothyroid.

Motherwort is a uterine stimulant — avoid in pregnancy. May potentiate thyroid medications and cardiac drugs.

Passionflower may potentiate sedative medications, benzodiazepines, and sleep aids. Use caution if taking blood thinners, as it may have mild anticoagulant effects. Avoid in pregnancy, as it may stimulate uterine contractions.

Vitex (Chasteberry) should be avoided if taking hormonal contraceptives, hormone replacement therapy, or dopamine-related medications. Discontinue if headaches develop.

Rhodiola may interact with SSRIs, MAOIs, and blood pressure medications. Start low if sensitive to stimulating herbs.

Skullcap may enhance the effects of sedatives, anti-anxiety medications, or anticonvulsants, as it may potentiate their effects. Avoid in pregnancy.
